Location: Baltra, Galapagos
This Galapagos land iguana was taking in some rays when we crossed paths. I made sure to keep my distance as I didn’t want to disturb it, but it certainly noticed me. Iguanas rely on the sun to replenish their energy. Not nearly as common as the marine iguanas scattered throughout the Galapagos. After spending days seeing Iguanas live by the sea I found it amazing to find one inland in the middle of such rough terrain. The color on these iguanas is vibrant and just pops against the natural landscape.
